FAQs

The care instructions for 100% cotton say  wash in cold water.

Should cotton towels be washed in hot water to kill germs and remove stains?

The most important part of washing towels, with a goal of killing germs and removing stains, is your choice of detergent. Good housekeeping magazine has some good suggestions on what detergents can work best for you.

Our care instructions for 100% cotton are designed with longevity in mind. We advise that our 100% cotton fabrics be Machine Washed Cold because higher water temperatures can cause the colors to bleed and fade over time. We advise Gentle Cycle to reduce abrasion and limit the breakdown of fibers over time. We also advise that when dried, use the Tumble Dry Low setting. Higher heat may cause cotton to shrink. If you are comfortable with a shorter life span of your textiles, washing in warm or hot water will help remove stains and drying at higher temperatures will help kill germs but a good detergent designed to work in cold water should clean and disinfect very well while also lengthening the lifespan of your cotton fabrics.
